Nothing grabs my Monday-night cooking attention quite like a recipe that headlines ‘one pot pasta recipe’ as I immediately know it means very little time and very little washing up, but hopefully loads of flavour. Well this one-pot spinach, feta and dill pasta over delivered on all those promises. You know you have a winner when even your teenage son with a strong aversion to anything green is his pasta is wolfing down mouthfuls. Thanks @abclifestyle for this delicious and easy-peasy Monday night dinner winner. 👊
Another fabulous @aussieonions workshop done and dusted! Today, together with @bitecommunications and @straight_to_the_source , we show cased the humble onion in all its glory to chefs and food service professionals. Erin, the talented head chef at @camperdowncommons served up a culinary delight of a burnt onion dip, followed by a caramelised onion, poached pear and burrata pizza, and a succulent smoked lamb with an onion and citrus ezme. To finish off this palate extravaganza, we were lucky enough to enjoy a bespoke @tokyolamington onion dessert made with a sweet red onion, balsamic and strawberry jam. On days like today I feel like the luckiest dietitian in the world to share the many nutrition benefits of Australian onions and enjoy this amazing vegetable for all the flavour and versatility it has to offer. #AussieOnions
Another day, another sport and fitness expo working with my favourite high protein yoghurt @yoproau . Everyone has questions for the sports dietitian….what to eat before and after exercise, what are the benefits of dairy protein, how do the branched chain amino acids in YoPRO Perform support muscle protein synthesis and so much more. After all that talking, I need a YoPRO yoghurt snack! 🥵
What an amazing whirlwind 48 hours in sydney working at the @yoproau stand chatting to all the @sydney_marathon runners about protein for running performance. Topped off the weekend with the 10km bridge fun running with my sister @kim_samuel_aus and bestie @stephoflynn2 on a gorgeous spring day. Thanks to @monicaplaza for organising a fun dinner out an awesome event and well done to all the YoPRO brand ambassadors for smashing your running goals 👊
Last week was another fabulous @aussieonions event (yes, I really do love onions!!) co-presenting with @tawnyabahr and @mitolofamilyfarms at the @finefoodexpo . The audience were treated to some incredible onion-inspired dishes by @telina_menzies and her team. Thanks to @bitecommunications and @straight_to_the_source for hosting this event helping to educate chefs and get them to elevate the onion from humble to hero.
Last week I trialed a new meal kit and recipe box - @quitelike.au . I was really impressed with the quality of ingredients and most of the meals passed the ‘kid taste test’, which we all know is the highest standard when it comes to being a food critic! Loads of veges in Every meal and pretty easy and quick to prepare.
